Good morning stampers
I had a busy day yesterday. You can tell it's Christmas time. I spent the day making dog toys and scarves for orders. Afterwards I pour a glass of wine and played along with two Friday challenges. Stamping is such a great way to end a busy day.
My first card is for The Friday Mashup.
The mash up this week is A non- holiday image(s) and a messy technique. Heidi say sit back have a cup of coffee and think about it. I used wine instead. And here is what I came up with.
Since we're going non- holiday images I decided non-holiday colors. So I went with Pretty in Pink and Garden Green. The Baby is from the little discovery set from the Angel Co. The baby is reaching for a bug.
The hat is off a penguin also from the angel co.My tree branches are the pine tree from Stampin Up's Lovely as a tree set. I just turned it upside down and used the top. The ornament my baby is holding is made using the ornament punch. Pink snow flakes from the Christmas punch set were stamped on shrink paper, then punched out. Using my embossing heat tool I shrunk the ornament down. I then colored the top with a silver marker. I drew a red string to tie it to the tree branches and placed a pink gem in the middle of it.
I found a little scrap DSP I think it's from the tea party set, and paper pieced her clothes with it.
My messy technique is the flocking on her hat and I used Sparkle Shimmer spritz on the background after running it through the perfect dots folder. Other supplies I used were
Four Frames set and Tiny Teeny Wishes
Decorative Label punch
Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon.
Thanks for the challenge Heidi. This was fun.
My next card is for the Fab Friday challenge. This is the first time I played along with them. I'm sure I'll be back. Here is their sketch
And here is the card I created
My supplies from Stampin' Up are
cardstock- Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla
DSP- Festival of prints
inks- Lucky Limeade and Crumb Cake
stamp sets- Serene Snowflakes, Curly Cute, and Mixed Medley
also
Cuddlebug snowflake folder, Shear Green ribbon and silver brads both I picked up at JoAnns.
Since my heat embossing tool was still on my desk I decided to make my own button using shrink paper and the mixed Medley scallop snow flake image and the 1 1/4" scallop punch.
Thanks for the great sketch.
I hope you like both my cards. Please stop back again
HAPPY STAMPING
